Game Console MAC Addresses

Media Access Control (MAC) Address, is a unique identifier for network devices composed of 12 hexadecimal characters (0-9 A-F). They can appear in the following formats:

  • MAC Address

To find the MAC/Adapter Address, find your game console below and follow the instructions.

Microsoft



  • Console (XBOX Family)

    • SeriesX

      (XBOX Series X)
      1. Go to "Profile & System"
      2. Select "Settings"
      3. Select "General"
      4. Select "Network Settings"
      5. Select "Advanced Settings"
      6. Select "IP Settings"
      7. MAC address will be listed next to 'WiredMAC' (Ethernet) 'WirelessMAC' (Wi-Fi) on right side of screen.

    • XBOne

      (XBOX One)
      1. Go to the "Settings" Page
      2. Select "Network"
      3. Select "Advanced Settings"
      4. MAC address will be listed next to 'MAC' on right side of screen.

    • 360

      (XBOX 360)
      1. Go to the "System" area of the Xbox Dashboard
      2. Select "Network Settings"
      3. Select "Edit Settings"
      4. Select "Additional Settings"
      5. Select "Advanced Settings"
      6. At the bottom of this screen you'll see a heading called "Wired MAC Address"

      Note: If you have an "Alternate MAC Address" configured on this screen, you MUST remove that address and register the    "Wired MAC Address".


    • XBOX

      (Original)
      1. Turn on your Xbox console with no game disc in the disc tray
      2. From the Xbox Dashboard, choose "Settings"
      3. Select "Network Settings"
      4. The MAC address is at the bottom-right corner of the screen

Nintendo



  • Console

    • Wii

      1. From the Wii Channel menu, select "Wii Settings" (the round button on the bottom-left of the screen with "Wii" on it)
      2. Select "Internet,"
      3. Select "Console Settings"
      4. The MAC address is displayed on the first line

    • GameCube

      1. Unplug the GameCube and flip it over
      2. Remove the broadband adapter from the bottom of the GameCube;
      3. Flip the adapter over
      4. The adapter address is printed on the underside of adapter

  • Handheld

    • Switch

      1. Select "System Settings" from the HOME Menu.
      2. Scroll down and Select "Internet"
      3. The MAC address is listed under "System MAC Address"

    • DS

      (2DS/3DS)
      1. From the HOME menu, select "System Settings"
      2. Select "Internet Settings"
      3. Select "Other Information"
      4. Select "Confirm MAC Address"
      5. The MAC address will be displayed

  • Console (Playstation Family)

    • PS5

      (Playstation 5)
      1. On the Home Screen, Find "Settings" (Gear icon)
      2. Press the "X" button
      3. Find "System"
      4. Press the "X" button
      5. Find "Console Information" (Under System Software)
      6. Press the "X" button
      7. MAC address will be displayed for LAN (Ethernet) and Wi-Fi

    • PS4

      (Playstation 4)
      1. Find "System Settings" Icon
      2. Press the "X" button
      3. Scroll up/down until you see "System Information"
      4. Press the "X" button
      5. MAC address will be displayed

    • PS3

      (Playstation 3)
      1. Navigate to the Settings icon (located on the far left of the main menu screen)
      2. Press the "X" button
      3. Navigate up/down until you see the "System Settings" icon
      4. Press the "X" button
      5. Scroll up/down until you see "System Information"
      6. Press the "X" button
      7. MAC address will be displayed

    • PS2

      (Playstation 2)
      1. Power up the PlayStation 2 and load the Network Adaptor Startup Disc.
      2. Once it has loaded, select "ISP Setup" and press X on your controller.
      3. The ISP Setup will begin to load, and you will be presented with a license agreement. Select Agree and press X to continue.
      4. For connection type, choose "Local Area Network (LAN)" and press X to continue.
      5. Select "Automatic Configuration" and press X to continue.
      6. At the connection test screen, select "Advanced" and press X to continue.
      7. At the "Advanced Broadband Settings" screen, make sure "Automatic" is selected. While you are at this screen, make note of the MAC address at the bottom.

      Note: To find the MAC address of your Sony PlayStation 2 you will need the Network Adaptor connected to the PS2 and you will need the disc that came with the Network Adaptor.
