Why do you need my password?

Registering a game console for use on USF's network carries the same responsibilities as any other computer registration. If a problem arises with your console, we will contact you via the email address you provide. In order to ensure we're contacting the right individual, we need your email address and password to verify your identity.

In the, short, coming future we intend to remove this step by requiring users to authenticate in order to access the game console registration page, just like one would during the Network Registration process. This will obviously simplify the process for everyone and remove the necessary requirement of submitting your NetID and password for validation during the game console registration process.
